    Glad to hear you made it through unscathed.

    we both had crazy auto encounters yesterday. mine with road raging cabbie.

    your write up reminds me of two cycling aphorisms i take with me: always do three bunny hops on every ride no matter how tired you are because when you need them you want to be ready; secondly, and more importantly, do whatever you can to dress in violent opposing colors on the bike. if traffic has to see you they won’t hit you. my days of dressing like the Black Knight are well behind me.

    glad to hear that you’re not only safe but that your instincts were spot on and that they’ll continue to serve you for whatever life throws at you next.

    @Bryan: Thanks! Me too. ;-)

    @E: Yikes, you’ll have to tell me sometime about the cabbie encounter. I note that I was dressed in pure black & white yesterday, riding a white bike w/white bar wraps. Maybe I should go gaudy …I just hate that, though. But I guess alive is better than cool.

    Your hopping advice is astute. I have to do roughly 10 to 12 bunny hops on every ride, due to doing laps around my course where there are a few road hazards that require it. I never thought that was a big deal. I can hop pretty darn high ;-).

    Glad that you’re OK!

    A strange thing — an interesting coincidence. I started a little biking a few weeks ago and last night I had a first dream in which I was biking. And… you were in it! I saw you and two other guys on bikes overtaking me (hey, I’m a beginner, ya know). We’ve actually never met in real life and I know you mainly from the Design View, but I just *knew* then that you were one of these 3 guys in the dream. I screamed “Andy! Hey!”, but you apparently didn’t notice.

    Some people say that sometimes when a person you know is in danger, you dream of him. I think it’s BS, and my dream was pleasant — it didn’t show that anything was wrong. But hey, it’s still a funny coincidence.

    The most important thing is that you’re allright. Nice avg speed, too.

    Thanks B. If you ever yell to me from your bike, I’ll do my darndest to hear, ride over, and say hi. Glad to know that you’ve taken up cycling. Keep it up!
